Overview
The International Institute for Child Rights and Development (IICRD) is a non-profit organization based in Victoria, Canada, devoted to advancing the quality of life and development of vulnerable children around the globe. We have been working on issues affecting children’s lives locally, nationally and internationally since 1994.
Our Mission
To enhance the capacity of individuals, organizations, and governments, to effectively use the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to transform systems and create peace and dignity for children and our world.
Our Values
IICRD’s key values of Belonging, Dignity and Justice for children and their communities are the compass by which we work together and engage with our partners on initiatives.
Whether working to equip local communities in Africa to improve support for vulnerable children affected by HIV/AID, assisting governments in North America to transform state child protection systems from risk focused to strength-based in support of Indigenous child rights, or helping create more child centred paediatric practice in Latin America, IICRD applies our values in building on cultural strengths in moving child rights from rhetoric to reality.
