The summer school on access to justice for children will be held at Casale la Sterpaia (Tenuta di San Rossore) on the 11-12-13 September. The Venue is easily reachable from Pisa airport.
The residential school, realised within the framework of the European Project "CLAIM - Child Law: Action for an Innovative Methodology", will be an opportunity for experts (lawyers and magistrates), social workers, students and academics to discuss in depth themes like the implementation of the child-friendly justice Guidelines, the implementation of the third Optional Protocol to the CRC, and how to guarantee the hearing of children in judicial and administrative proceedings. Moreover a specific focus will be dedicate to the use of legal clinics as innovative instruments for teaching children rights.
The Working language will be English and we foresee around 50 to 60 participants, including high level representatives from the Council of Europe, EU Commission, international organisations and human rights mechanisms, NGO’s, international experts as well as children and young people.
We foresee parallel sessions focused on the legal clinic as innovative teaching method for university law students; the direct involvement of children within the front office activities; advocacy strategies for the promotion of children rights at national and EU level.
