Plan International together with UNICEF, UNFPA, the Permanent Missions of Canada, Ethiopia, Finland, Honduras, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the YWCA cordially invite you to a side event to mark the International Day of the Girl Child on the theme “Innovating for girls’ education” with a focus on girls’ education prior, during, and after disasters.

The event aims to reaffirm the importance of the issue of girls’ right to education in disasters, share good practices, as well as encourage a constructive debate between different actors working in the human rights, development and humanitarian sectors.

Plan International will use this opportunity to launch its 2013 annual global report on the State of the World’s Girls, titled “In Double Jeopardy: Adolescent Girls and Disasters”.

The panel discussion will include experts in the field of child rights and education in the context of disasters.

Don’t miss it!
