It is rare for me to find that the information provided by children is not helpful. My experience has been that the discussion with children generates not only useful information, but is frequently a powerful tool in the continuing dialogue with the parents and social workers.
IICRD seeks a dynamic, entrepreneurial-minded Project Manager
to help implement and oversee projects and the development of partnerships with national and regional partners in Southeast Asia.
The Project Manager (PM) will be based in Bangkok, Thailand and be the IICRD representative overseeing the day-to-day activities of multi-sector, regional initiatives led by IICRD. The Project Manager will coordinate the initiatives’ key administration functions (communications (including reporting), financials, and logistics, and participate in the overall implementation of each initiative in Southeast Asia.
The Project Manager will ideally have:
- Excellent written and oral fluency in English and Thai
- Experience reporting to an international funder, international NGO or development agency
- A firm understanding of project monitoring and evaluation methods and practice
- Experience working in the Thai development context is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to work across various modes of communication, and with a variety of people (e.g. young people, practitioners, professionals, high ranking government)
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure often in a context of uncertainty
- Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment, and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization with diplomatic tact
- Self directed and able to work in conditions of limited on-site supervision
- Willingness to travel to, and work with, partners from developing countries
This is 13 month term beginning February 2010 and ending March 31, 2011.
