CPP partners meet in Bangkok for Meeting

On March 17-18, 2010, 30 CPP partners met in Bangkok for the Child Protection Partnership Partner Planning and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Meeting.

The two-day meeting was organized to strategize on key activities for the next year and to share monitoring and evaluation tools to track CPP Thailand's collective progress in achieving CPP's goals. Partners included members of law enforcement, government, NGOs and child protection organizations.

The meeting focused on targeting ICT enabled child sexual exploitation focusing in three key areas across Thailand:

1. To develop a school based curriculum on ICT awareness, safety and child protection
2. To develop school based community child protection programs using ICT in partnership with law enforcement and child protection agencies
3. To develop a policy/legislative round tables

Three strategy areas for 2010 -2011 will include: ICT child protection in community development and policing; education (ICT child protection curriculum development); and the establishment of a children and ICT policy working group.

IICRD has been in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University, UNICEF and Department of Local Administration (DLA), Ministry of Interior to implement Phase 1, 2 and 3 on Child Rights, Planning & Monitoring in 7-10 provinces across Thailand from April 2010 until March 2012. The idea is to link the work of community policing and development activities to that of CPP locations including in the Provinces of Ranong and Chiang Rai where CPP's Coordinating Partner, Plan Thailand has a strong presence. A next partner meeting is planned for later in the year.
