Director

Lavinia Floarea, BA, JD, is a Policy Analyst with WorkSafeBC, where she has developed policy and regulations, and established effective working relationships with government, employer, and labour stakeholders, in order to help create safer workplaces for all British Columbians. Lavinia has helped create the volunteer program for the Treehouse Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, where she designed orientation systems for new volunteers and directly supported children who are engaged in the criminal justice system as victims of abuse. She previously worked as a legal researcher with the Justice and Corporate Accountability Project, reviewing the operations of Canadian resource extraction companies and Canadian embassies for compliance with applicable federal legislation, environmental standards, and international treaties, including United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP). She looks forward to applying her passion for human rights to her role on IICRD's Board.

Stepping boldly into leading with children and youth to create a better future for us all.
