Kayanne Thompson is a fourth-year Justice Studies student at Royal Roads University, and graduated from Camosun College in 2019 with a Diploma of Criminal Justice. Previously she has worked as a practicum student with the Victoria Parole Office, during which she developed a resource guide for Indigenous clients reintegrating into the community. She continues to serve on a Citizen Advisory Committee for the Correctional Service of Canada.
Kayanne is a passionate believer in the importance of community, as well as holistic and restorative justice practices, which lead her to an interest in child protection and child protection policy. She is grateful to have the opportunity to work and learn with the IICRD, and is looking forward to applying her background in theoretical justice to projects in conjunction with this organization.
