ASSOCIATE

Noelle is an Academic Researcher, Child Rights & Protection specialist, and a mum to her adorable son. She holds a PhD in Development Studies from SOAS, University of London, a Master of Art in International Development with Distinction from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Bingham University, Nigeria. She is passionate about ensuring that her research and work contributes to creating a world where ALL children are respected, their voices heard and where children are not subjected to any form of violence in all settings. She has over 8 years of research, policy and non-profit experience working in Nigeria, the UK and currently, Canada. In her role as an academic researcher across several institutions including McGill University and SOAS University of London, her research & policy expertise are in Gender, child rights and protection (with particular focus on the incidence and prevention of violence against children) and the conceptualization and lived experiences of resilience for vulnerable groups.  She applies both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in her work with expertise in case study research, child-centred participatory approaches and ethnographic research and quantitative data analysis. She is also the founder of Education for Purpose Initiative (E4P), an NGO focused on supporting children in street situations through child-centred evidenced-based advocacy, formal education provision and tackling violence against children in West Africa, Nigeria. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music and trying out new cuisine (with a huge obsession for pastries). She currently lives in Calgary with her husband and son.
