Care and Support Guidelines for Child-Centred and Community-Based Organizations

African practitioners to better understand a rights-based approach to programming in the area of HIV/AIDS. The community guidelines are designed to: (1) create a continuum of care and support; (2) Assist agencies in developing holistic responses to the affects of HIV/AIDS on children and family; (3) Empower community field workers, local government representatives and young people; (4) Provide field workers with the tools and strategies to engage youth ; and (5) Outline methods and approaches to build on cultural values supporting children.
